Our 1.6 hectare cherry orchard is repeatedly attacked by starlings. Although the plantation is covered with hail nets, the clever birds always find some kind of loopholes. Since 2008 we have been using RAPTOR R30 (similar to R31), and since then the starlings have been reliably kept away. The device works reliably even after years and there is no habituation. Repairs can be carried out by oneself and Spare parts are available from the manufacturer even after 15 years. some kind of loopholes. We have been using the Raptor R31 DSC bird deterrent device against seagulls and crows on the premises of our recycling plant since 2014. We are very satisfied with the performance of the system. In particular, we are convinced that there is no habituation effect when using these systems. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at any time. www.borchers-entsorgung.de satisfied with the performance of the system. We are protecting our vineyards from starlings with RAPTOR equipment since 2001. This has always worked well for over 18 years. In the morning hours the starlings come out of the reeds and with the RAPTORs we can keep them away well. We have 15x RAPTOR (R10, year 2001) devices for our approx. 80 ha vineyards at our hand. If the pressure of the starlings shifts from the east side to the west side, we simply change the location of the equipment. However, you are not allowed to install them next to the village, we keep a distance of at least 1 km. The good thing about the RAPTOR is that the noises are irregular and the starlings don't get used to them. wine-growing association Breitenbr. We run cherry plantations in the east of Austria and have been using RAPTOR equipment since 2006 to protect cherries from starlings and blackbirds. A RAPTOR protects our 0,75ha /200m long plantation and 2x RAPTORs the larger plantation with 1,5ha /320m. When the cherries turn red, we set up the equipment and immediately the starlings are gone. Sometimes it can happen that we install the equipment too late and the birds have already discovered the red cherries. Even then, the RAPTORs only need 1-2 days to completely drive them out. And this despite the fact that our plantations are unfavourably located next to a wind protection belt that provides shelter for the birds. After 13 years of experience, we can certainly say that with the RAPTOR devices we no longer have a measurable harvest loss due to bird damage.
